– Our Experience with ManO’War –
The setup of this wireless gaming headset was very easy. You just plug a USB dongle, which is provided in the right earphone and they start to connect via a very stable 2.4 GHz connection. Different to other bluetooth connected headphones, the range and clearness of this technique is better.
Once you have plugged the dongle into your PC, driver installation starts automatically. Before use we charged the headphones completely to measure the usage time during our best wireless gaming headset review.
After charging we turned on the Razer ManO’War for the first time and the brand logo at the side of the headphones starts to glow. Beside a really futuristic look this glowing can be quite helpful if you’re at a LAN party. You can customize the colors to glow, “breath”, remain static or even can turn them off completely.
Caution: leaving the lights on leads to a noticable higher power consumption and lower usage time. Compared with its main competitor the Logitech G933 Wireless 7.1 Headset, the battery of the Man O’War lasts significant longer. You get between 19-20 hours without the lighting effect. Leaving the lights on leads to about 14 to 15 hours of usage time. The Logitech G933 lastet about 11.5 to 12 hours and only about 8 hours with the lights on.
The Controlls of the Razer ManO’War are well integrated and placed thoughtfully. During hot gaming action all buttons are quickly reachable to adjust your settings quickly. Therefore the ManO’War get a big plus in construction and the overall build quality. Everything feels tight without creaking sounds.

Sound Quality of the Razer ManO’War
The Sound Quality of this wireless gaming headset is really nice. Especially compared to other even wired headphones the sound is crisp clear with a really powerful baseline. Fired by 50 mm Deodymium Drivers you get the full range of 20Hz – 20kHz. The sound quality was slightly better than with the Logitech G933, especially the 7.1 sound appeared more “natural”. But this is as always some kind of personal opinion – but all three of our testers stated the same.
The 7.1 Surround Sound is one of the best we heard from wireless headphones so far and can compete even with high class wired headphones. The vocals are crisp clear and the action is really spotable in the virtual 3D Sound – surrounding you. This comes in handy when you play ego-shooter or other games where “knowing where the enemy is…” can “save your Life”!

Comfort of the Razer ManO’War
Our next check-point on the list was the wearing comfort. Here our testers did not come to the same conclusion.
As two of our testers really liked the wearing comfort of the Razer ManO’War Wireless Headset, one of our testers preferred the Logitech G933. This might depend on how big the person, using the headphones is. Our tester Stefanie who preferred the Logitech G933 Artemis is quite small compared with our two gaming guys.
The digital microphone is easy to use and provides natural clear vocals, which is awesome. It can be concealed in the left ear cup which also is a nice feature.
Overall the comfort is good. Little criticism might be that the headphone do not fit tight on the head. Therefore sometimes when you do quick movements with the head they can slide a bit (without falling off).
